Welcome to February! It means we are closer to spring and then finally summer. If you live in the Midwest, you probably appreciate the ever-changing seasons. I try to look at each season as a gift from God.
Psalm 74:17 “It was You who set all the boundaries of the earth; You made both summer and winter.”
February reminds me to appreciate having a warm coat. It makes the hot cup of coffee taste even better. The early setting sun causes more evenings at home with my family. While it’s true we dash from our warm car to get inside somewhere else warm, we are blessed to have such creature comforts everywhere we go!
This season can also make some people impatient, and complain about the cold. It can make some people scared, afraid of not having enough money to pay the heating bills. It can make some people mad that it seems nobody cares about them.
Let’s use February as a special time of year to encourage others. We can comfort others, and care for the needy. It’s an opportunity to use the gift of winter to be a blessing to others.
May God’s great love flow through us and warm cold hearts that need to find Him too!
